No Surprises Act

Your right to understand the cost of your care is protected by federal law. Under the No Surprises Act (effective January 1, 2022), you have important protections against unexpected medical bills.

Your Rights Under the No Surprises Act:

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges for scheduled services. If you are uninsured or self-pay, you can request a Good Faith Estimate before your appointment.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

For questions about your rights under the No Surprises Act, visit cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
