Dr. Jennifer Broad founded Broad Medical Group to deliver care that is both clinically excellent and genuinely personal. Her practice combines world-class professionalism with a warm, friendly environment designed to help patients feel safe, informed, and supported through every season of women’s health.
She provides individualized, whole-person care with the goal of creating smoother recoveries, better long-term wellness, and a better quality of life no matter what issue a patient may be facing — from pregnancy and surgery to menopause, hormonal change, and intimate health concerns that require trust as much as expertise.
“One of the most common questions I get is, ‘Why in the world would you choose to become a gynecologist?’ I like to think the specialty chose me. In my opinion, there is nothing more intimate and personal than sexual health, pregnancy, and childbirth.”
That sense of intimacy is exactly what drew Dr. Broad to OBGYN. She believes this work calls for a physician who can be deeply personal, soft, and empathetic while still bringing the judgment, training, and confidence needed to safely deliver babies, perform surgery, and guide patients through complex decisions.
Patients often respond to that balance of warmth and directness. Dr. Broad pairs a calm, compassionate bedside manner with a candid communication style and a sense of humor that makes difficult conversations more human and less intimidating.
Dr. Broad was born and raised in Southern California, with formative years divided between the Inland Empire and Orange County. That dual upbringing gave her an appreciation for diversity, individuality, and the many different paths women travel through health, identity, family, and healing.
Her fascination with medicine started early. At six years old, she wanted to be part of her younger sister’s birth and convinced her mother to let her take a childbirth class. Later she interviewed a local pediatric cardiologist for an elementary school career project, volunteered in the hospital as a candy striper transporting postpartum mothers, worked in an underserved community hospital in Ghana before medical school, and spent a year at Whitaker Wellness Center in Newport Beach learning about alternative medicine and the holistic approach to patient healing.
Dr. Broad earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of California, Irvine. She completed medical school at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, then trained in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Loma Linda University Medical Center, where she became board certified.
She was later invited to stay on as a general OBGYN and attending physician at that tertiary care teaching institution, helping train residents and educate medical students. Her years at Loma Linda deepened a philosophy that still shapes Broad Medical Group: health is not only physical. Mind, body, and spirit all matter. Kindness matters. Humility matters. Honest conversations about the true cause of illness matter.
Today her clinical work centers on high-risk pregnancy management, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and menopause and hormonal health. She also holds the designation of SSRP Certified Peptide Specialist, reflecting her broader interest in restorative, individualized, and wellness-oriented care.
Dr. Broad holds hospital privileges at Hoag Hospital Newport Beach, where she delivers in a setting equipped with a Level III NICU and 24/7 specialty support. She is currently accepting new patients for obstetric care, gynecologic services, surgical consultation, and menopause management.
Personally, Dr. Broad identifies first as a wife and mother. She is passionate about health and wellness, grateful for what she has been given, and motivated by the chance to help make another person’s life better in any way she can.
That perspective shapes how she practices: not just treating a diagnosis, but caring for the person living through it with empathy, honesty, and practical support.
Broad Medical Group is symbolized by the cherry blossom, reflecting the seasons of a woman’s life. In Japanese culture, sakura can represent life, fragility, renewal, and rebirth. In Chinese tradition, the cherry blossom can also reflect feminine beauty, love, softness, strength, and power.
