Term used in Pap test reports that includes dysplasia, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), and changes caused by Human Papillomavirus. A noncancerous condition that occurs when normal cells on the surface of the cervix are replaced by a layer of abnormal cells. SIL is classified as low grade or high grade.
